Selected Core Competency: Strengthening Quality Reporting and Improvement
The Indiana State Office of Rural Health, the Flex Coordinator, and partners from the Indiana Hospital Association provide technical assistance to Indiana's 35 Critical Access Hospitals both on-site and virtually focusing on patient safety, patient engagement, care transitions, and outpatient care. Enhancing individual assistance are CAH convening meetings held twice annually, monthly webinars, and an annual awards event celebrating CAH Heroes for staff members that demonstrate going above and beyond the call of duty to address a rural health concern for their community, Community Impact for the CAH that demonstrates a major impact within its community on any healthcare related topic, Outstanding Rural Health Providers for CAH staff members that demonstrate outstanding rural health performance, Outstanding CAH Leadership for staff members that demonstrate exceptional leadership in an MBQIP quality improvement project endeavor, CAH Patient and Family Experience for CAH staff members that positively impact the human experience in healthcare, CAH Community Partners for an Individual or community organization that has made a significant contribution and/or supported the rural community, and Innovation in Quality Improvement for a CAH.
