Kansas Top Three Flex Activities in 2009

  1. Continuation of the Kansas Rural Health Options Project.
  2. Support rural EMS/Trauma system integration and development.
  3. Implementation of the State Rural Health Plan.

Kansas Flex Program Success Story

The Multi-state Health Quality in Rural America project (HQRA) currently involves six states in addition to Kansas. Four more states will join the project in 2009. HQRA is a highly successful quality/performance improvement project developed and utilized in nearly all of the 83 Kansas Critical Access Hospitals.

Kansas Most Significant Flex Achievement

The Kansas Rural Health Options Program (KRHOP) is a highly effective collaboration between the Kansas Department of Health & Environment Office of Local and Rural Health, Kansas Hospital Association, Kansas Board of EMS, and the Kansas Medical Society. This partnership allows for a multitude of constituents and stakeholders to work together progressing program goals in a flexible and successful manner.
