2019-20 Eligible LC: Using Self-Assessment Results to Initiate Strategic Planning

The Learning Collaborative (LC) for SRHT Eligible Hospitals consists of four webinars from January 2020-April 2020. Leadership teams of selected hospitals should reserve the following dates and prepare to participate in the activities.

  • Eligible LC1: January 22, 2020
  • Eligible LC2: February 26, 2020
  • Eligible LC3: March 25, 2020
  • Eligible LC4: April 29, 2020

Key objectives for the 1st LC session:

  • Excite teams to engage them
  • Prepare teams to use self-assessment findings to initiate strategy planning
  • Prepare teams to initiate the development of a Strategy Map

Agenda:

  • Introductions and hospital roll call 
    • Hospital teams introduce themselves
    • Purpose and objectives of LC
    • Outline key objectives for the 1st LC
  • Hospital example 
  • Importance of demonstrating the value of the hospital 
  • How to interpret self-assessment results and consider findings for PI and growth 
    • Summarize aggregated self-assessment results
    • Hospitals can use aggregated results to compare themselves to the selected group

Preparation for LC2: 

  • Before the next LC, hospitals should:
    • Review self-assessment results to determine opportunities for PI and identify areas for learning and growth
    • Cross results against current strategic plan (if applicable) to evaluate opportunities discovered from self-assessment to prepare for Strategy Map development
  • Download the Strategy Map Template and follow the outline in the Summit Guide on pages 20 - 21 to initiate development
