Cybersecurity Threats in Rural America: How to Protect Your CAH

Malicious software attacks make the news more frequently. Data breaches due to ransomware that has encrypted protected health information at hospitals has been widely reported, and these attacks are very costly to the hospitals involved. Hear about the threat of computer viruses, worms, ransomware and other forms of malicious software and how critical access hospitals (CAHs) should protect themselves from these threats. Processes for prevention, detection and responding to malware attacks that could result in a breach of protected health information are presented. Learning objectives for this event include:
