DRCHSD Telehealth Webinar Series: Telehealth for Older Adults

11:00am - 12:00pm
The National Rural Health Resource Center

DRCHSD Telehealth Webinar Series (2 of 2): Tailoring Telemedicine for Older Adults

Description: In this session, David will describe survey data indicating older adults’ impressions of and degree of acceptance of telemedicine, much of which debunks common misconceptions. David will also describe the Geisinger at Home Program which incorporates nurses and community health assistants visiting patients’ homes and facilitating social services and telemedicine visits with a physician.  Lastly, he will describe some of the strategies we’ve deployed to ensure telemedicine tools are easy to use for patients regardless of age including providing host sites at local clinics, sending links directly to the patient’s phone, and pre-visit calls with virtual care assistants.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about older adults’ acceptance of and preferences around telemedicine
  • Learn about a nurse-assisted program specifically geared toward older adults in their homes that incorporates telemedicine as a key feature
  • Learn about strategies for improving the ease of use of telemedicine for all ages

Audience: CEOs, IT, and CNOs. If you feel like this webinar could benefit anyone else in your organization, please feel free to forward it along
