In response to the numerous challenges facing rural providers, the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) supported the 2016 Financial Leadership Summit, which was convened by The National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center). The summit was needed to identify strategies and actions that rural hospital leaders should consider as they transition to alternative payment models and population health management. The summit panelists included 13 nationally recognized rural hospital field experts, as well as CEOs and CFOs from top performing critical access hospitals and PPS facilities. The panel also included representatives from SORH, Flex program and the National Rural Health Association.
