Part 7 - Telehealth as the New Norm: Strategies to build understanding and acceptance internally and externally

Speaker: Mike Milligan, President of Legato Healthcare

Until 2020, telehealth in rural communities focused more on physician-to-physician communication. One silver lining to the COVID-19 pandemic is that telehealth is now being used as an option for primary care. As rural health organizations, we’re all at varying levels of implementation, but the next challenge is receiving buy-in among providers and patients of telehealth as an acceptable method to delivering and receiving care.

Let’s discuss ways to educate and evolve the thinking of our audiences, while discussing effective messaging and techniques for your telehealth communications. We hope to have an enlightening discussion as attendees share their challenges and successes.

Objectives:

  • Discover effective messaging to increase understanding, acceptance and usage of telehealth
  • Review communications tools to educate various audiences
  • Learn how the promotion of telehealth can improve the image of your organization
