In September 2017, RHI held a Rural Health Network Summit that brought together rural health network leaders from across the country to consider the question, “What is the role of rural health networks in the changing health care environment?” Engaged and thoughtful network leaders came to consensus on six key roles that support network members in their transition towards population health. These roles affirm the critical work of networks in the success of their members. Let us share the significance of the Summit findings with you while we use the findings as a catalyst to explore new services and opportunities that network leaders can embrace with confidence.

  • Understand six common roles rural health networks should play during this time of change and transition in the health care environment
  • Identify new opportunities and services for networks that support their members in progress toward population health
  • Explore actions that networks can take to adapt to the changing health care landscape
  • Articulate how network members are benefiting from participation in network services and opportunities
