FORHP Flex Program Workshop
Attendance at this event is open only to state Flex grantees.
The goal of the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) Flex Program Workshop is to provide new or existing Flex Program staff an orientation to the Flex Program. The FORHP Flex Program Workshop covers multiple topics, including basic critical access hospital (CAH) finance, quality and performance improvement concepts, information on emergency medical services (EMS), population health, and Flex Program core competencies and best practices. Each of the sessions will be presented by either staff of the National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center) or a subject matter expert, including speakers from FORHP, the Flex Monitoring Team (FMT), and Rural Quality Improvement Technical Assistance (RQITA). All of the speakers have vast knowledge and rural experience in the subject area. By the completion of the Workshop, participants will have gained a better understanding of the Flex Program's goals and services available from the Technical Assistance and Services Center (TASC), a program of The Center, to support Flex Program excellence.
The Flex Workshop consists of two full-days and one half-day of training beginning the morning of Tuesday, October 1 and ending the morning of Thursday, October 3. It will be held at the Pier B Resort Hotel in Duluth, Minnesota. There is no charge for the workshop; however, attendees are required to pay lodging and travel expenses which is allowable as part of the Flex award.
In addition to the event itself, please note the expectations that go along with attending the Flex Program Workshop.
- Pre-event webinar
- Core Competencies for State Flex Program Excellence Self-Assessment

These expectations will be outlined in detail to those confirmed to be eligible for participation in the FORHP Flex Program Workshop.
