FORHP Flex Program Workshop
Attendance at this event is open only to state Flex grantees.
The goal of the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy's (FORHP) Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility (Flex) Program Workshop is to provide new or existing Flex Program staff an orientation to the Flex Program. The Workshop covers multiple topics including basic critical access hospital (CAH) finance, quality and performance improvement concepts, information on emergency medical services (EMS), population health, and Flex Program core competencies and best practices.
Each of the sessions will be presented by either staff of the National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center) or a subject matter expert, including speakers from FORHP, the Flex Monitoring Team (FMT) and Rural Quality Improvement Technical Assistance (RQITA). All speakers have vast knowledge and rural experience in various subject areas. Upon Workshop completion, participants will also have a better understanding of the Flex Program's goals and services available from the Technical Assistance and Services Center (TASC), a program of National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center), to support Flex Program excellence.
The FORHP Flex Program Workshop consists of two full-days and one half-day of training beginning the morning of Tuesday, March 31 and ending late-morning on Thursday, April 2. It will be held at the Fitger's Lakefront Hotel in Duluth, Minnesota. There is no charge for the workshop; however, attendees are required to pay lodging and travel expenses, allowable as part of the Flex award.
In addition to the Workshop itself, please note a few expectations for participating attendees:
- Participate in a Pre-Event Webinar
- Complete the Core Competencies for State Flex Program Excellence Self-Assessment
- Complete the Workshop Core Competency Activity
- Participate in a Close-Out Webinar
These expectations will be outlined in detail to those confirmed as eligible participants in the FORHP Flex Program Workshop.
The FORHP Flex Program Workshop is supported by FORHP and coordinated by TASC.
