National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center)

This TASC 90 webinar recording focuses on one hospital's initiative to fight the opioid crisis. Additionally, this webinar recording includes updates from the Technical Assistance and Services Center (TASC), the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP), to include both the Flex Program and policies impacting critical access hospitals and Rural Quality Improvement Technical Assistance (RQITA).

Learning objectives include:

  • Learn about the development and outcomes of Ellenville Hospital’s initiative – building a continuum of care for chronic pain patients who were heavily reliant on ED services for pain management
  • Understand the role Flex has played in supporting their community engagement initiatives, including resources and opportunities for state Flex Programs to address substance abuse challenges
  • Using a quantitative system and a charting tool to track utilization of a hospital’s Emergency Department by chronic pain patients and utilization of opioids with those patients

This event is supported by FORHP and coordinated by TASC, a program of the National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center).
