Outpatient

These resources focus on quality improvement for outpatient hospital services, primarily those provided in the emergency department (ED). The current core and additional Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project (MBQIP) measures that fall under this domain include:

Core:

  • OP-1: Median Time to Fibrinolysis *
  • OP-2: Fibrinolytic Therapy Received Within 30 Minutes
  • OP-3: Median Time to Transfer to Another Facility for Acute Coronary Intervention
  • OP-5: Median Time to ECG (electrocardiogram) **
  • OP-18: Median Time from ED Arrival to ED Departure for Discharged ED Patients
  • OP-22: Left Without Being Seen (ED)

* Measures removed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) following submission of Quarter 1 2018 data

** Measures removed by the CMS following submission of Quarter 4 2018 data

Additional:

  • OP-23: ED – Head CT or MRI Scan Results for Acute Ischemic Stroke or Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients who Received Head CT or MRI Scan Interpretation Within 45 Minutes of ED Arrival
