Nevada Rural Hospital Revenue Cycle Initiative

Author: Nevada State Office of Rural Health

The Nevada Rural Hospital Revenue Cycle Initiative was developed to address the financial problems faced by rural hospitals within the State. The initiative includes a complete review of the flow of patient financial information (PFI) and the functions involved in the processing of PFI, as well as the identification of needed revisions. Five specific reports were developed to review the results of accounts receivable and to identify key trends assessing the effectiveness of rural hospital business offices. These reports were used to monitor the effectiveness of the initiative.
