Alexis joined The Center in 2023 and currently serves as The Center’s workforce and leadership lead program specialist on the Delta Regional Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) program. In her role, she supports education and outreach initiatives and provides technical assistance in workforce and leadership development.
Her ties to rural go back to her parents, as both of them grew up in rural areas. Inspired by her parents’ strength and resilience, she knew she wanted to give back to the communities that built them. This passion led her to the Louisiana Department of Health where she served as an intern. Here, she discovered her passion for ensuring rural residents have access to care.
Alexis earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Our Lady of the Lake College, known today as Franciscan Missionaries University as well as a Master of Health Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. She went on to serve as program manager and coordinator in the State Office of Rural and Primary Care at the Louisiana Department of Health. She has also held managerial roles at Pennington Medical Center and Premier Health Consultants.
While Alexis resides in Prairieville, Louisiana, she enjoys spending her free time traveling around with her family in their RV.
