Alexis joined The center in April 2026 as a program specialist on the Rural Hospital Stabilization (RHSP) program. In her role, she supports rural hospitals with their community engagement, outreach, and education initiatives as they progress through the program.
Alexis grew up watching her family struggle to access and navigate the complexities of the health care system. This was the motivating factor that drove her to pursue a career in the health care space, specifically in assisting others in accessing and understanding their care.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in public health from Arcadia University, Alexis held multiple roles working in state governments and local nonprofits. More than anything, she is proud that she gets to have a positive impact on rural communities nationwide by bringing together community members, action planning, and helping local hospitals thrive.
She believes the most pressing rural health need is health infrastructure. With more health care facilities closing their doors due to rising costs of care and reimbursements that can’t be maintained, she says more education and a greater awareness of the impact of these closures are key to policy changes.
Alexis resides in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania with her partner. She enjoys staying active by spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, and fishing.
