Kristina has been with the National Rural Health Resource Center since May of 2023. She is our Human Resources Coordinator, focusing on all things recruiting as well as supporting The Center staff with the daily tasks of Human Resources.
Kristina comes to the Center with a variety of professional experiences that include office administration in many settings, unit coordination in a busy Critical Care Labor and Delivery unit, teaching (all age groups), and geriatric and end-care nursing.
She grew up surrounded by small communities in the farmlands of Central Illinois and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology from Illinois State University in 1996. In 2003, she became a licensed practical nurse as a dare from the St. Paul, MN hospital nurses she was working with and went on to serve many rural geriatric patients.
Kristina has lived most of her life in central Wisconsin as well as St. Paul and Duluth, MN. She has recently returned to her hometown in Central Illinois to help care for her parents while her youngest attends her alma mater. When not at work, Kristina enjoys cuddling with her cats and binge-watching old sitcoms. She also enjoys a nice stroll on the cooler Illinois days and supporting both the University of Illinois Illini and her hometown high school Bulldogs.
