Program Manager
Latraiel Courtney
Since joining The Center in 2022, Latraiel has contributed to strengthening rural healthcare infrastructure and supporting the long-term sustainability of rural healthcare organizations. As a program manager for the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) program, she works closely with participating rural healthcare organizations to guide them through the program and support their progress toward improved performance and sustainability.

Growing up in a small town, Latraiel saw firsthand the barriers to health care that rural communities face. With an interest in making a difference, she earned her master’s in healthcare administration from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in May 2015.

Since then, she has held various public health roles within the Louisiana Department of Health. Her background not only gives her a deeper understanding of the struggles of rural health care providers but equips her with the skills to address those challenges. She says the most pressing need in rural health is the lack of workforce which can be addressed through offering internships and workforce opportunities for local community members.

When she’s not working, you can find her binge-watching new shows, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite quote is “Envy no one, for whatever you see, a price was paid.”
