Mike Rowland
Mike Rowland joined The Center in January 2023 as the Program Specialist for the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) Program. Mike now works across two grants, DRCHSD and the Rural Hospital Stabilization Program (RHSP) and serves as the Service Line and Equipment Team Lead for both teams. His primary focus is Telehealth and Health Information Technology (HIT), which frequently supports both programs.
 
Mike has over ten years’ experience working in healthcare, public health, telehealth, telementoring, and quality improvement in a health care setting. In the past, he has worked with various groups of patients and providers, ranging from American Indians of the Navajo Tribe to patients with Sickle Cell disease across the Western United States.
 
Mike has worked with principal investigators to research methods of improving care for patients with Sickle Cell Disease, contributing to projects including:
  • Barriers to Pediatric Sickle Cell Disease Guideline Recommendations
  • Improving Preventive Care for Children With Sickle Cell Anemia: A Quality Improvement Initiative
 
During his time at The Center, Mike has aided the launch of over 50 individual service lines and enjoys increasing the capacity and capability of rural health teams by bringing emerging and innovative technology to the communities where it matters most.
 
Mike received his Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus and has a Bachelor of Arts with a Biology Major from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
 
Mike lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife and two children. He enjoys swimming, running, and generally being outside with his crew.
