As The Center's go-to media professional, Rod Kirby serves as the Multimedia Specialist. He began his career with The Center in 2023 by joining the IT and Multimedia team. Rod supports The Center's programs and partners with creative media design, production, and technical implementation. He brings expert video production, graphic design, photography, and digital marketing knowledge. This creative versatility helps him support The Center's mission of improving the health of rural communities.
Rod has nearly 10 years of experience producing and editing corporate videos, TV commercials, brand videos, and original content. Rod has worked for nonprofit organizations and a major corporation creating and publishing social media content, producing videos, managing email marketing, updating websites, growing YouTube channels, in effort to help spread awareness of their programs. He filmed and photographed events, created educational videos, and covered national organizational events. He has extensive video production experience with a solid foundation in graphic design. Rod works to creatively promote Center programs, services, and resources by highlighting their value and sharing the impact and outcomes. Specifically, this includes strategic, operational, and implementation activities related to media (video, audio, graphics, multimedia, and other forms of digital media) for diverse audiences.
Rod earned a bachelor of science in media communications and a master of science in entertainment business from Full Sail University in 2019.
In his spare time, Rod enjoys playing video games, watching movies, and supporting the independent film community in Memphis, TN.
