DRCHSD 2026 Revenue Cycle Management / Physician Practice Management Webinar

Team of One: Integrating Clinical and Non-Clinical Roles to Strengthen Scheduling, Registration, and Revenue Flow

Description: This presentation explores how integrating clinical and non‑clinical roles in scheduling and registration strengthens patient access, improves care coordination, and protects revenue in rural health clinics and rural hospitals.

Given limited staffing and cross‑trained roles common in rural settings, even small breakdowns at the front end can lead to denied claims, delayed cash, patient frustration, and staff burnout. This session focuses on practical, rural‑friendly strategies to align teams, standardize handoffs, and reduce rework—without adding headcount or complexity.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain why scheduling and registration are critical revenue integrity functions
Understand how front‑end accuracy directly impacts denials, cash flow, and patient experience in rural settings.
  • Identify key integration points between clinical and non‑clinical roles
Recognize where communication and handoffs most often break down—and how to correct them with simple, repeatable workflows.
  • Apply practical tools to improve front‑end performance
Use checklists, standardized visit definitions, huddles, and exception tracking that work for small, cross‑trained rural teams.
  • Establish shared accountability and measurable outcomes
Implement a small set of realistic metrics to monitor scheduling accuracy, registration quality, and preventable denials.
