DRCHSD Quality Series: Just Culture

11:00am - 12:30pm
The National Rural Health Resource Center

DRCHSD Quality Improvement Webinar Series: Just Culture

Description: How can healthcare organizations expect to encourage and promote transparency within their organization while undergoing immense change. The workforce of yester-year is gone and new generations are entering the workforce in masses. Technology is rapidly advancing and changing the way we work. The COVID-19 pandemic shifted how many learn and work. While all of this has been occurring, healthcare must remain focused on patient safety and being able to continunally learn and grow. A Just Culture helps promote a culture focused on transparency and growth, with tools to promote learning from our mistakes rather than penalizing our team members or sweeping mistakes under the rug. This presentation will focus on the fundamentals of a Just Culture and how to respond to process breakdowns within a Just Culture.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the fundamentals of a Just Culture
  • Construct a roadmap for establishing an organizational Just Culture
  • Learn how events are responded to within a Just Culture
