Boon County Hospital (BCH) demonstrated excellence in quality initiatives with documented outcomes. BCH actively participated in the Partnership for Patients as well as many other quality initiatives.

Positive Outcomes:

  • Demonstrated above average scores compared to a majority of Iowa CAHs on patient safety measures
  • Implemented policies and processes to eliminate non-medically indicated early elective deliveries and reduce patient falls
  • Staff trained and implemented Team STEPPS and Lean as strategies to improve processes and outcomes

Top Accomplishments:

Howard Eikenberry, Assistant Administrator for Quality, Patient Safety and Information Technology accepted the recognition certificate, saying, “[This award] represents the efforts of all the staff working together to provide quality care for everyone.”
