Hansford County Hospital District, Spearman, Texas

Hansford County Hospital District (HCHD), located in Spearman, Texas, collaborated with Northwest Central Texas EMS Resources, Inc. to create a program that arms registered nurses with the knowledge and training of an EMT with a class titled RN to Basic.

Top Accomplishments: 

EMS in West Texas has a history of collaboration and mutual support across city, county, and state boundaries. HCHD expects to continue this project and collaborate with the other entities that were involved from the beginning. Jonathan Bailey, Chief Executive Officer, shares that this class is just one example of the innovative approaches to addressing rural health. “The RN to Basic class is just one example of the innovative strategies rural health care providers must utilize to meet our unique staffing challenges.
