The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) methodology uses simple communication tools to incorporate a systems perspective for considering strategies, to monitor progress of the strategic plan and to operationalize strategies through key initiatives. These samples from a network focused on health information technology (HIT) can serve as reference documents for networks interested in incorporating the Balanced Scorecard into their strategic and evaluation planning efforts. The strategy map is a visual representation of the organization’s strategies, while the performance improvement plan includes measures and initiatives.
