EMS in Dixie County, Florida: Driving Data for Improved Health
The Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) provided supplement funds to state Flex Programs for emergency medical service (EMS) projects via the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 Flex EMS Sustainability Projects. This project focused on improving the rate of rural ambulance agencies reporting quality data. Once reporting improved, the focus shifted to data quality. In this video, one rural ambulance service shares the value realized in reporting and using data to improve organizational culture. They share their enhanced ability to identify improvement opportunities that move the needle on health outcomes for their patients, such as Community Paramedicine and an antibiotic protocol for sepsis.
