TASC improves the quality and financial viability of health care organizations in rural communities through its support to state Flex Programs, CAHs, rural EMS, and other rural providers.
The purpose of this event was to inform Flex Grantees about new rurally relevant EMS quality measures that resulted from a Flex-funded EMS supplement project.
Assess the core competencies of a rural ambulance agency to provide broader service and greater value patient care and access in rural America. This self-assessment and the associated resources will assist rural ambulance agency leaders to succeed in moving from volume to value in their agency’s culture and operations.
This report is designed to help rural EMS leaders and health care providers during the transition to value-based payment, providing ideas for collaboration and potential strategies to better prepare and integrate into the new value-based environment.

Two new educational videos now available from the National Rural Health Resource Center highlight the prevalence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the country’s rural communities and the steps that critical access hospitals and other small rural hospitals can take to improve access to much-needed pulmonary rehabilitation services.
By attending this TASC 90 webinar, participants learned how to be able to explain what NEMSIS is and what data is available, discovered how Flex Programs can access and use NEMSIS data, how to recognize the process the data goes through from entry to availability on the NEMSIS website, and how to understand how NEMSQA works with NEMSIS.
The bi-annual Flex Introductory workshop is supported by the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) and coordinated by the Technical Assistance and Services Center (TASC), a program of the National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center).
