Maternal Health
This collection of resources provides rural health care organizations, leaders, and communities with insights, guidance, and tools that can help them adapt to the evolving maternal health landscape.
Maternal health care is a critical issue for rural communities, with the decline in obstetric service access, and worsening maternal health outcomes. Rural areas face numerous barriers to health care access, including limited transportation, geographic isolation, health care workforce shortages, and economic challenges. These obstacles make it difficult for pregnant women to receive essential prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care, impacting both their health and the health of their infants. Given these challenges, innovation and collaboration are key to supporting and protecting the lives of mothers and babies. This toolkit offers webinars, research, and resources to assist rural leaders in improving maternal health care from prenatal through postpartum.
